French Laundry. Save your pennies :)
Ha, thanks for the recs! We are always up in the city and I can never think of the good places to go, but hopefully I'll be more organised now! Which ones would you recommend most for an affordable everyday type of meal?
Mmm... yeah I haven't gotten around to eating there yet! I hear getting reservations can be very tricky, but maybe when we're ready for it we'll hit it up.
My favorite Mexican food place is Colibri. Fantastic selection of margaritas. It's fairly high-end Mexican food (i.e, not a taqueria).
Wow, how have I not noticed that place before? I feel like I'm always walking around that area and never noticed it. I'll be sure to check it out next time we're in town and I've got some money to spend on food. I'm such an el cheapo, it's ridiculous!
Some of my favorite (mostly) Affordable "everyday" restaurants: Beretta (super yummy apps & pizzas and great drinks), Luna Park (good food, good drinks, get the bananas foster for dessert), Spork (good food), Absinthe (great wine, oysters, I like to sit in the bar), Alembic (shared plates, great drinks, perfect for whiskey/scotch drinkers), Delfina and Pizza Delfina (yummmmmm. Although the wait for Pizza Delfina can be brutal), Burma Superstar (again, wait can be hectic), Elite Cafe (totally indulgent, best biscuits EVER), Osha Thai (I actually like the one on Union Street the best, but that's probably controversial), Home (chill, casual, comfort food)...

A little more expensive, but worth checking out: Range, A-16, Spruce, Firefly, Slanted Door, Bar Tartine, Foreign Cinema, Kokkari, Le Colonial.

And Park Chalet is great for a sunny afternoon.
Wow, thanks for all the recs! I liked Beretta and Delfina and Osha. The rest, I'll have to check out and try another time!!
